Greeting Card Design

Pretty Alright Goods specializes in black-&-white greeting cards and other gifts. They brought me on board to branch out into color using Risograph printing.

We knew we wanted something fairly simple and abstract which utilized a halftone dot matrix and geometric patterns. After many

iterations of different shapes, layouts and color combinations,

we eventually settled on a series of cards which tapped the

whimsical surface designs of the 90s and combined them with

novel "3D" elements or simple illustrations.

To the left are a few cards I conceptualized and wrote

copy for in addition to executing the visuals.

A Risograph machine combines digital photocopying with ink printing, allowing for transparency in overlapping colors and unique textures. Seen below are some in-process editing notes and early design trials.

Email Marketing for Pretty Alright Goods

Simple, minimal, and a little cantankerous (but always fun) are the name of the game for PAG emails.

Gift Design

In addition to greeting cards, Pretty Alright Goods makes gift items containing humorous copy. I was responsible for bringing this copy to life after receiving some initial guidelines.

As a team we discussed using a flat cross-stitch pattern as a design element, which I found to be perfect for a collection

of holiday-themed mugs - I went through a variety of iterations before finally settling on four final designs which went into production.

Below are my copy contributions to the "Lit Venn Diagram"

which wound up being too small to print but continue to

give me a chuckle.

Other Gifts

From mugs, keychains, stickers and beyond,

much of my original copywriting and concepts

made it to production such as the "Rise AND Shine" mug and "Retired Honor Student" sticker.

The self-watering (or drinking?) plant wound up becoming both a fan and company favorite and

made it's way onto a few different products in

various manifestations.

Email Marketing for GloFX

GloFX is the leading purveyor of LED "Flow Toys" popular with festival-going EDM (electronic dance music) enthusiasts.
The core demographic is young and outgoing with an affinity for flamboyant personal expression & psychedelic subcultures.

Employing user-generated content and original in-house photography, I created email marketing campaigns to drive sales and help foster a sense of brand engagement for a niche market.
